Love having this place in Queen Anne. Not enough places in seattle are open for late night eats. But Big Mario's Pizza is open till 2am which I absolutely love. I order from here regularly. The pizzas are always great. The thin crust holds up and doesn't get soggy from the toppings. While it's not straight up crispy like slices I've had in NYC, this is still a delicious slice of pie. Our go-to is a large pepperoni. Pear Gorgonzola is also insanely delicious for any vegetarians or honestly non-vegetarians alike out there. Some point out that it's sort of pricy but come on guys, so is all of seattle. Also the 18" is quite large and the slices are big. Overall, 3 large pizzas fed 10 hungry adults with some slices left over. Sure dominos is cheaper but you get a very different pizza. The northlake location had a 20% discount for healthcare workers- not sure if that is honored at other locations.
This place ticked a few boxes for me. Close to climate pledge. Good pizza. Dive bar in the back. What more could my heart desire?!
So I am not sure if some of these comments were done by past employees or owners of other pizza places. After reading the reviews, I was expecting really crappy service. I walked in to nothing but pleasant smiles, and very courteous waitress. I wanted to add that the back area was packed and she was very busy, but was still incredibly polite. Peter said we take 20 minutes and that's about what it took. I got my pizza and went back to my hotel was very pleasant surprise by the pizza. I will definitely come back to this place. Give it a shot. Ignore the haters on the other reviews.
After watching a Mariners game we were hungry for some local pizza. This place was a few blocks away from where we were staying, but got high Yelp ratings, so we placed an order for take-out and I walked a few blocks to get it. I arrived before the pies were ready, so I had a cold Rainier in a can while I waited! This place also had a pretty large bar and outdoor seating area. We got the Potato Pesto and Macho Man pizzas. When arriving home, we dug in. The pizzas were so good that I forgot to take a photo for the rating until they were both half eaten (sorry Yelpers). Anyway, I recommend this place for anyone who likes quality pizza. Great crust, ample toppings, unique offerings. And like all great pizza, it was just as good cold the next morning for breakfast. The picture of Mario on the pizza box cover, just like the pizza itself, is classic!
We came here for a quick bite late at night, but ended up staying for quite a while as we ordered whole pizzas for ourselves. These ended up coming out around 30 minutes after we ordered (they warned us of this before we placed the order). We ordered a 18" Macho Man and a 14" Umberto Classic which came out to around $75, which I find a little pricey for a pizza place. This was about enough to feed 5 hungry adults, but I think I had room for a bit more. The Macho Man was very meaty and totally hit the spot for a greasy pizza! Personally, I preferred the Umberto Classic. It comes with a sweet balsamic glaze on top and the arugula balances out the cheese and meat fairly well. The crust on both pizzas was very good! Thin, but still thick enough to hold up its toppings and remain crispy.
We always go to the same pizza place, but wanted to branch out and try somewhere new after our neighbors suggested that they always get takeout from here. We called to order takeout, so I can't say much for the ambience or service, but the pizza was ready within the time window that they suggested, and they did offer us, utensils, plates, red pepper, and Parmesan. We didn't order anything fancy, just a plain pepperoni pizza. But all the pepperoni was double stacked, so I feel like we really got a good deal! In my opinion, this kind of pizza mostly resembles a New York style. Contrary to popular belief, I think pizza crust is the best part of a pizza, and I could've eaten a whole plain pie of it from this place - no sauce or cheese required. The pizza was fresh when we got it and cooked all the way through but not burnt. It definitely is the perfect takeout pizza if you live in the area, or are visiting the Seattle center and want somewhere to go - I would recommend!
LGBTQ FRIENDLY AND SAFE PLACE TO EAT MEET AND HANG OUT. There is a full bar and they serve NY style pizza slices. You can order at the counter or at the bar. The pizza slices came out very quickly. Perhaps to much so as they were not very hot. The staff was so nice there and is a great environment to just hang with your friend. The pizza? Sorry to say that this New York pallet was not impressed. So they check all the boxes except for the pizza. Since this is a pizza place, I am deducting one full star. Cheers.
This one was a tuff one. I originally wanted to just throw out a 5 star because I love this place. When I put on my review hat and actually write it out, it's just a hole in the wall pizza joint with great vibes... wait.... that's far from a bad thing... it's a great thing when that's what your looking for. Why I love this place? Is always there when I need it, it's simple, decent size slices, the people inside are friendly including the staff. I often find myself coming here on a drunken night of fun or sometimes after happy hour when I'm still hungry. Now for a realistic review from my average visit. My last visit I came after work when everything else was closed and I was just kind of hungry. It was a weekday, I got parking right up front. There were about 10 other customers inside. Only one remaining tray of cheese pizza so I had to wait 5 minutes for the next meat pizza. Their normal water dispenser was out of water, pretty much the entire time I was there even after bringing it to the workers attention. Luckily they have a bar in the bar and the lady gave me and my partner water just fine. By then our pizza was ready. My pizza it was greasy but not more than any other pizza I've eaten. Large size and almost well placed ingredients. There was a random bread bubble on my slice which mean a random toppingless bubble in the middle. There plenty of cheese and pep to cover the bare spot. The actual setting arrangement and cleanliness of the bar is barely passable but it's passes. Very retro vibes. It could use a few touch ups and love. Either way, it never stops me from coming with friends and loved ones. I will admit. It's not my favorite pizza and there is better in the area, but sometimes there just too much of a hassle. And the other places that aren't as much of a Hassel have terrible pizza. This pizza is good. You won't be mad you avoided the downtown madness and stopped here instead.
